The Pakistan Navy League members gathered for a memorable celebration on October 16, 2024. This weekly meeting marked a special birthday celebration for four distinguished officers, bringing together naval veterans of all generations. The League, which meets every Wednesday, has a cherished tradition of honoring officers who have reached the milestone age of 80. This week's event was particularly significant, celebrating Rear Admiral I.H. Naqvi, Captain Farhat Ali Khan, and Captain M.A.A. Siddique. Adding to the joy was the birthday of Vice Admiral Irfan Ahmad, who coincidentally shared the same birth date, making the celebration even more special.

The event, attended by both senior and junior officers, showcased the strong bonds within the naval community that persist beyond active service. Flower bouquets were presented to each birthday celebrant, followed by a cake-cutting ceremony, marking the occasion with warmth and camaraderie.

Highlighting the League’s commitment to community service, Commodore Tajuddin Najmi shared an exciting update about an ongoing initiative for the young women of Baba Island. He, along with Admiral Shahid Karimullah  and Admiral S A Baqir, recently visited Commodore Altamash Hospital to discuss the nursing course being offered for these young women. Dr. Altamash, impressed by the program, immediately offered employment opportunities at his hospital for the course graduates.

This initiative is a significant step toward economic empowerment, offering sustainable career paths in healthcare for local young women. The members present applauded this development, recognizing its potential to transform lives and contribute to the community's welfare. The Pakistan Navy League exemplifies the spirit of continued service, blending camaraderie with a mission to uplift society. Through projects like the Baba Island nursing program, they show that while the officers may be retired, their commitment to serving the nation remains unwavering.
